NEWBERRY – Returning to the court for the first time since a 79-60 victory over Tusculum on Dec. 16, the Newberry College men's basketball team will be the visitors against Fayetteville State tomorrow afternoon (Dec. 30) at 2 p.m. in North Carolina.

Scouting the Wolves:
• Newberry (2-6, 1-3 South Atlantic Conference) earned its first SAC win last time out in Eleazer Arena against Tusculum.
• The Wolves were led by
Malik Joseph's career-best 23 points in that affair, closely followed by
Devario Sheppard's season-high 22.
•
Jalen Johnson chipped in 12 points and nine rebounds against the Pioneers to raise his season average to a team-leading 7.1 rebounds per game, which is sixth in the conference.
• Against the Pioneers, the Wolves tied or set four team-high marks for the season: field goals made (30); rebounds (46); steals (7); and blocked shots (6).
Scouting the Broncos:
• Fayetteville State (5-7, 1-2 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association) has lost its last two games, including a narrow 57-56 road loss to Bluefield State on Dec. 18.
• Tyler Foster led the Broncos with 16 points against the Great Danes but shot just 4 of 15 from the floor.
• Khalil Ridges scored 14 points on an efficient 7-of-9 effort from the field in the loss.
• The Broncos rank at the bottom of the CIAA in scoring offense (64.5 points per game), but boast the best defense, allowing only 65.7 points per game.
