GREENWOOD, IND. – Four members of the Newberry College women's volleyball team were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team, announced Tuesday afternoon.
 
All-District members include sophomore right side hitter Samantha Shaffer, sophomore defensive specialist Kannyn Boyd, senior outside hitter Taylor Hall, and sophomore middle blocker Madison Watson.
 
To qualify for the list, the student-athlete must have competed in 90% or started in 66% of games for the season and achieve a 3.5 GPA
The 2023 Academic All-District® Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field or court and in the classroom. Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First, second and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early January.
