Preview: Men's Basketball Travels to Elizabeth City for Non-Conference Tilt with Vikings

NEWBERRY – The Newberry College men's basketball team will pay a visit to Elizabeth City State University tomorrow (Nov. 21) for a non-conference clash at 7 p.m. Fans can follow along with Video and Live Stats.

Scouting the Wolves:
•    Newberry (0-2) heads into the matchup with ECSU after losing to Converse last Wednesday.
•    Senior Booker Cusaac led the Wolves in scoring (10 points) and rebounding (8) and made 6 of 7 free throws in the game.
•    Jalen Johnson had eight points and six rebounds – all of which came on the offensive end.
•    The Wolves collected 17 offensive rebounds for the game, bringing their season total to 29. With an average of 14.5 offensive rebounds per game, Newberry sits in second in the South Atlantic Conference in the category, while tied for 23rd in Division II.

Scouting the Vikings:
•    Elizabeth City State (2-3) are winners of two of the last three games, including a win on Saturday against Barton, 101-90.
•    Tre Richardson showed the way for the Vikings against the Bulldogs, scoring 27 points on 11-of-16 shooting and a trio of 3-pointers.
•    Michael Eads Jr. made 4 of 5 3-pointers and added a pair of twos to finish with 16 points.
•    On the game, the Vikings made 37 of 63 shots (58.7%) and 10 of 19 3s (52.6%).
