Rummery-Lamb Posts Career High Against the Patriots

NEWBERRY, S.C.- The Newberry College Women's Basketball team fell to the Patriots of Francis Marion this evening in Eleazer Arena, 82-70.  

Junior Center, April Rummery-Lamb, led the Wolves with a career-high 27 points. Rummery-Lamb shot 61% in the field and 5 of 6 at the free throw line.  

Sophomore Forward, Jess Tomkins shot 50% in the field and one for one at the free throw line to tag nine points for the evening.  

The Wolves battled with the Patriots keeping the score close with the help of a jump shot from Payton Cronen to make the score 16-14. Rummery-Lamb forced a Patriot timeout with her turnover with 3:19 remaining in the first quarter. Nadia Burns added two points on the board to end the first quarter 20-16.  

The Wolves took the lead in the second quarter with the help of a free throw from Rummery-Lamb to make the score 23-22. The Wolves tagged six more points on the board in the second quarter, but the Patriots finished the quarter 35-28.  

For the game the Wolves won the points off turnovers battle 19-18. The Wolves also tagged seven second chance points to the Patriot's six.

The Wolves will be on the road to Due West to face the Flying Fleet of Erskine College Nov. 21 at 5:30.
