NEWBERRY, S.C.- The Wolves Volleyball team defeated the Valkyries of Converse University in three sets this afternoon in Eleazer Arena.
The Wolves jumped ahead in the first set keeping going on a nine-point run to make the score 13-3 with the help of a kill from
Taylor Hall. The Valkyries could not keep up with the Wolves, the Wolves finished the set 25-17.
The Wolves started the second set with a six-point run making the score 6-0. The Wolves gained a 10-point lead with the help of a kill from Hall to make the score 15-5. The Valkyries fought back but were unsuccessful, with the set score being 25-19.
The third set was a nail biter till the end. Both teams battled for every point with numerous long rallies. The Wolves were able to maintain at least a three-point lead throughout the set. Wolves won the third set and took the match with the help of a kill from
Carole Ann Hussey and and attack error from the Valkyries with the score 25-22.
Game Leaders
Taylor Hall led the Wolves offensively with 10 kills,
Kate Brown right behind her with nine. Bradley led with 14 digs and four service aces, behind her
Katy Morrison 13 digs and with three service aces.
Madison Watson led with three blocks and tagged five kills.
Annie Dill was behind her with two blocks.
Career Highs
Olivia Bradley tied her career high in service aces in a match with four this afternoon.
