Scouting the Lions: Emmanuel comes into the match sporting a 3-3 record, with a 2-3 record in conference competition. In their last outing, the Lions would take on Coker in a home matchup and get back in the win column by defeating the Cobras by a score of 30-9 after falling to UNC Pembroke the previous match before. A wrestler to watch for the Lions comes in at 141 lbs by the name of Josh Kincaid. Kincaid, sporting a 8-8 overall record, comes into the match on the heels of a victory by fall at the 2:36 mark against Zaid Miller of the Cobras.

Scouting the Wolves: The Wolves look to stay hot after three straight dual wins against South Atlantic Conference Carolinas opponents in King, Limestone, and Emory & Henry. Coming in with a 6-1 record, the last time the Wolves were on the mat, Newberry felt right at home as they would secure not one but two wins against the Saints and Wasps, respectively, on the road in Emory, Virginia. One key wrestler to watch for the Wolves is 141 lbs Josh Blatt (Albemarle, N.C.). In his last outing in the Emory & Henry/Limestone tri on January 18, Blatt was a man on a mission, securing two wins against Smaill St. Pierre of Limestone, who was ranked #14 according to the Open Mat, and Isaiah Dotson of Emory & Henry by major decision and fall, respectively.
