Newberry, S.C. - The Newberry College Wolves (10-9, 10-7 SAC) are set to conclude their two-game homestand on Saturday when they host the Tusculum Pioneers (13-6, 13-4 SAC) with tipoff scheduled for 4 p.m.
Both teams are coming off impressive wins as the Wolves earned a victory over Wingate after Marcus Ford's impressive 20-point first half while the Pioneers claimed a come-from-behind win over Carson-Newman after Jalen Crowder hit a game-winning three-pointer with five seconds remaining.
The Pioneers are led by Trenton Gibson who is ranked second in the South Atlantic Conference in scoring with 18.2 points per game while also ranking second and eighth in the conference in both assists and rebounds per game, respectively.
Historically, the Wolves are 22-24 against the Pioneers with Tusculum taking the previous meeting on Dec. 15. Newberry will look to even the season series inside the friendly confines of Eleazer Arena where the Wolves have been outstanding as of late, boasting a six-game, home winning streak dating back to November.
