NEWBERRY, S.C. -- Newberry College men's basketball team hits the road to face conference rival Lincoln Memorial University Wednesday night (Jan. 5) inside B. Frank Turner Arena. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m.

MATCHUP PREVIEW

Wednesday's matchup will be the 33rd meeting all-time between Newberry and Lincoln Memorial men's hoops. Their last face-off took place on February 13, 2021, with Newberry defeating LMU 71-66 inside B. Frank Turner Arena.

Newberry (6-6) looks to go above .500 on the season in the first of two matchups against Lincoln Memorial (LMU). 

The Wolves men head into Wednesday's game with three players averaging double digits. Junior QuanDaveon McCollum (Clio, S.C.) leads the way in scoring and rebounding, averaging 13.6 PPG and 7.2 RPG. Junior TJ Brown (Colombia, S.C) ranks second in team scoring with 12.2 PPG. Senior Marcus Ford (Eatonton, GA) also leads the team in assists, averaging 3.2 APG and double-digits in scoring with 11.3 PPG. 

LINCOLN MEMORIAL 

17th ranked LMU (10-2) has six players averaging double digits, with Junior Jordan Guest leading the way with 16.4 PPG through twelve games.

The Wolves' men overcame a 39-22 halftime deficit to pull off a close road win against conference foe Lenoir-Rhyne (66-65) on December. 20 at Shuford Memorial Gym.

Malakhi Stremlow led the comeback effort with 20 points and five rebounds. TJ Brown was also a key player, contributing 19 points and three rebounds on the way to a victory.  

LINCOLN-MEMORIAL 

The Railsplitters Men's basketball team (10-2) looks to continue their success after posting a convincing win at Lenoir-Rhyne on New Year's Day (76-67). Jordan Guest led the Railsplitters in scoring, dropping 27 points in the win to improve to 7-2 in conference play on the season.
