Las Vegas, NV - Cody Brundage, a wrestler at Newberry from 2012-2017, will get a chance to fight on the national stage this Saturday. Brundage, who sits at 6-1-0 in his professional fighting career, will face Nick Maximov out of California who sits at a perfect 6-0-0 in a Middleweight Prelim of UFC 266 on Saturday evening in Las Vegas, Nevada. 

During his time at Newberry, Brundage totaled 96 wins, which is the seventh most in program history, was a two-time NCAA National Qualifier, two-time academic all-american, and was a captain of the team as well.

"Cody is a homegrown product here in the Newberry-Chapin area," said Cy Wainwright. "For him to represent not only the Midlands of South Carolina but Newberry College as well on the UFC stage is awesome.  Excited to see his talent as a mixed martial artist getting recognized by the UFC on 266.

The Prelims of UFC 266 will start at 6 PM ET and can be streamed on UFC Fight Pass and ESPN+.
