NEWBERRY, S.C. - The Newberry women's lacrosse team fell at home in the regular-season finale to the Crusaders of North Greenville University by a final score of 14-7. Newberry enters the post-season with a record of 5-7.

Taylor Doiron and midfielders
Angel Roberson and
Kelly Martyn were all honored for their accomplishments prior to the game.
Newberry scored first, as junior midfielder
Chloe Wood made it 1-0 at the 27:50 mark. After two goals by the visitors, Doiron tied it up at two by taking a pass from Wood and scoring at the 15:26 mark. Wood then got her second goal of the game off an assist from Martyn, giving the Wolves a 3-2 lead at the 13:50 mark. Moore capped off the rally with a goal on a free position shot to make it 4-2 Newberry with 12:09 left in the first half.
The Crusaders then seized control of the game with eight unanswered goals, including three to end the half with a 5-4 lead as Newberry failed to score for 23 minutes. Freshman midfielder
Heather Johnston ended the North Greenville run by scoring her first of the game off a pass from sophomore defender
Madalyn Messersmith to make it a 10-5 deficit with 18:53 left. Martyn then got her first goal of the game at the 17:45 mark of the second half to draw the Wolves to within four, at 10-6.
The Crusaders responded with two more goals but Martyn got her second goal of the game off a pass from Moore to make it 12-7 with 10:03 left. North Greenville ended the game with two goals, giving them their final margin of victory.
Wood and Martyn led Newberry with two goals each. Wood finished with three points on three shots on goal and won two draw controls while Martyn recorded three points on two shots on goal. Moore also contributed to the offensive attack with two points on four shots on goal.

Kaitlyn Mason led the defensive effort for Newberry with each registering three caused turnovers. Junior
Casey McCabe played all 60 minutes in the net, stopping seven shots by took the loss (1-2).
