Box Score CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Newberry College women's tennis team was blanked by no. 20 Queens on Thursday afternoon.
Junior
Judit Gonzalez Agud and senior
Elisa Aguirre lost 1-6 at first doubles and the freshman duo
Rosie Harfield and
Ish Singh lost 1-6 at second doubles. The junior pairing of
Amy Griffiths and
Lucy Spice won the lone matchup for the Wolves, 6-0, at third doubles, but Queens still grabbed the doubles point.
Gonzalez Agud lost 3-6. 3-6 at first singles. Singh lost 2-6, 1-6 at third singles and Griffiths lost her first matchup of the season, 2-6, 0-6, at fourth singles. Spice fell 5-7, 2-6 at fifth singles while sophomore
Rebecca Gibbons fell, 2-6, 3-6, at sixth singles. Aguirre was the lone Wolves player to win a set during singles play, but she lost 6-2, 2-6, 2-10 in the end at second singles.
