Wolves compete at Terrier Relays

Johnston places second overall in the women's triple jump event

SPARTANBURG – The Wolves, fresh off fantastic performances at the CIU Rams Invitational, headed to Spartanburg on Friday and Saturday to compete in the Terrier Relays hosted by Wofford.

On the Track:
James Glenn placed fifth in the men's 100m with a time of 10.77. Michael Parrish and Jalen Sturgis also competed in the 100m, posting times of 11.24 and 11.67 respectively.

Glenn and Parrish would also compete in the men's 4 x 100m relay with teammates Tyrese Grant and Cameron Henderson. The squad would end up taking a 10th place finish in the event with a time of 43.58.

Elijah Fulmore continued his strong showings in the hurdles, taking a 12th place finish in the 110m hurdles with a time of 15.81. Fulmore would then follow it up with a personal record in the 400m hurdles with a time of 57.62, placing 14th in the event.

Granger Garrison would place 16th in the 400m after finishing with a time of 51.37.

Tahleebah Martin collected a pair of personal records in both events she competed at the Terrier Relays. Martin's time of 1:01.47 in the 400m placed her 19th overall while her time of 1:08.09 in the 400m hurdles gave her a 10th place finish.

Tashayna Flinch would post a 2:34.16 time in the women's 800m for a personal record.
 
In the Field:
D'arion Johnston led the way for the Wolves as she placed second overall in the women's triple jump with a mark of 11.48m.

Tyrese Grant placed 14th in the men's long jump with a 6.18m mark. Grant would also compete in the triple jump, taking home a 10th place finish with a 12.30m mark.

Reigning SAC Field Athlete of the Week, Iris Duke, came away with a 16th place mark of 37.19m in the women's hammer throw. Octavia Grandy and Gari Forehand also competed in the event, recording marks of 30.27m and 24.49m respectively.

Forehand would lead the Wolves as they competed in the shot put, as she recorded a 10.07 mark. Duke followed behind, posting a 9.83m mark in the event while freshman Mya Stevens had a 9.63m mark.

Forehand would also throw for a mark of 31.99m in the discus event, taking a 21st place finish for the Wolves.

Isaiah Parker continued his high placings for the Wolves as he finished fifth in the men's discus, recording a mark of 43.57m. Kegan Crowell and Antonio Taylor followed Parker in the event as the freshman pair posted marks of 39.87m and 38.69m respectively.

Douglas Summers would throw for a mark of 36.76m while Jonathan Huggins added a mark of 31.19m to round out the event.
 
UP NEXT: 
The Wolves will head to conference-foe Lenoir-Rhyne for the Lenoir-Rhyne Track and Field Classic next weekend.
