NEWBERRY – The Newberry men's tennis team got back in the win column, demolishing Mars Hill 7-0 at the Oakland Tennis Center.
 
The Wolves (9-11, 3-3 SAC) were able to get the double point with a win by Sean Nguyen and Jose Navarro and a win by default to Lawrence Friedland and Alex Amble. Nguyen and Navarro were able to get convincing 6-2 win over Fernando Neto and Kyrel Trim.
 
In singles action, Newberry was abl to go undefeated. No. 8 Edison Ambarzumjan was able to get the win over Ben Reid with set scores of 6-3, 6-1. Navarro had a tight match with Rodrigo Ramos but was able to get past him. IN the first set, Navarro got the 6-4 set win. In the second set, Ramos did not go away quietly as Navarro had to work to get the 7-5 set win to take the match.
 
Nguyen was able to carry his moment over from the double match, defeating Neto in two sets, 6-2, 6-0. Alex Amble was able to get the win over Tom Farman in consecutive sets of 6-2. With the match already decided, Enrico Haas played Trim to an eight game proset, winning 8-6. Lawrence Friedland picked up the win by default.
 
The Wolves will continue their home stand as they host No. 37 Lenoir-Rhyne next Tuesday at 2 p.m.
