THIS WEEK'S TOP STORYLINES
  1. Newberry's passing defense was ranked 56th in Division II and fifth in the SAC after Week 2, giving up 186.5 yards per game. The Wolves have since dropped that average to 153.3 yards per game, including two games with under 100 yards, to improve their ranking to 10th in Division II and tops in the conference.

  2. Chance Walker moved into sixth place in school history in kickoff return yardage and 10th in total return yardage (kickoffs and punts) in the loss to Wingate. He could leap all the way into sixth place if he totals 81 return yards against the Saints.

  3. Shea Rodgers needs eight points this week to tie Ryan Lukshis's (2004-07) 217, the current Newberry scoring record by a kicker and the fourth-most by any Newberry player. He is currently in line for the fifth-best single-season punting average in school history at 41.9 yards.

  4. Anthony Blue has 16 career passes defended despite playing just two seasons in Scarlet and Gray. He is one away from reaching the top 10 in the Newberry record books since passes defended became an official NCAA statistic in 2000.

  5. Deshun Kitchings is 74 yards shy of a crowded 10th place in Newberry's single-season receiving yardage, which is currently shared by Kendal Brown (2001), Derrick Higgins (2003), and Markell Castle (2017) at 756 yards.

  6. Colton Bailey amassed 347 yards of total offense (299 pass, 48 rush) at Wingate, giving him 1,409 in 2019 and moving him from 46th to 23rd in Newberry's single-season rankings.

  7. Newberry has won at least four games in every season under Todd Knight. A win would give the Wolves their third straight 5-6 campaign.

  8. Limestone junior punter Thomas Cook's career 43.5-yard punting average is the best among all active Division II players. Rodgers' 40.2-yard average is 18th.

  9. Limestone head coach Brian Turk is the Saints' fourth coach in six seasons of football, taking over the program after Newberry's win in Gaffney last October.
