Box Score NEWBERRY- The Newberry Women's Tennis team continued their dominant run as they defeated Southern Wesleyan 6-1 on Saturday morning in Central S.C. 

The Wolves looked to keep their campaign going steady and earned their fourth win of the season. Newberry looked to continue its success over the Warriors as they have never lost to Southern Wesleyan University in Women's Tennis history.  Elisa Aguirre and Judit Gonzalez Agud opened up doubles play by topping Janokovi and Romero 6-2. Rebecca Gibbons and her teammate Madison Conwell were able to take a win by default decision giving the Wolves two out of three wins in doubles play. Gwendolyn Rast and Meredith ware fell to a tough duo, Jankun and Korabs 6-2. 

Newberry carried over their dominance in doubles play to earn five out of six matches. The Wolves found no need to allow any match to go into a third set as they cruised by their opponent. Aguirre, Gonzalez-Agud, Amy Griffiths, Gibbons, and Ware were the five that were able to seal victories at Rev. Leroy C.Cox Tennis facility. Judit Gonzalez Agud was able to blank her opponent 6-1 in both sets. Griffiths sought out revenge on Jankun who took down the Wolves in doubles play earlier in the day. The Liverpool, England native cruised through her sets winning 6-3, 6-1. 

The Wolves return to action on Oct. 23 in Rock Hill, S.C. Newberry will face conference foe Catawba College at 2 pm.
