NEWBERRY – Newberry carries a four-game winning streak over UNC Pembroke into the seventh all-time meeting between the programs Saturday afternoon at Setzler Field.

UNC Pembroke won each of the first two meetings before Newberry's dramatic win over the eighth-ranked Braves in 2013 that signaled a turn in the series. Last year's 20-0 win at Grace P. Johnson Stadium marked the first time in program history that UNC Pembroke had been held below six points at home.

THIS WEEK'S TOP STORYLINES

1. Newberry's 24-21 defeat at Carson-Newman last week was the Wolves' ninth straight loss in one-possession games, a streak that began in October 2017.
    
2. Newberry is 11-2 all-time in games played on Nov. 2, allowing 14 points or less in 10 of the 11 wins. Both losses came to opponents scoring exactly 33 points.
    
3. Newberry shut out UNC Pembroke 20-0 in 2018. It was the Braves' first shutout since their inaugural season of 2007, a span of 102 games, and the first time in school history that UNC Pembroke had scored less than six points at home.
    
4. UNC Pembroke won the first two matchups between the programs before Newberry shocked the eighth-ranked Braves 24-21 at Setzler Field on an 11-yard touchdown pass to Corey Washington with 1:10 remaining and a fourth down stop near midfield. The win began Newberry's current four-game winning streak over the Braves.
