SPARTANBURG - The Newberry Women's Tennis team established dominance in their double header against Spartanburg Methodist College and Converse College.

Doubles- The Wolves tennis team swept through SMC in doubles play, winning every match in dominant fashion and taking all but one set overall. Amy Griffiths and Lucy spice took down Gracie Pall and Madeline T.,  Madison Conwell and Rebecca Gibbons defeated Molly L. and Joana L. while Gwendolyn Rast and Meredith Ware took down Elena N. and Deana E. 

The Wolves carried over their dominance as they faced Converse College hours later. Elisa Aguirre and Judit Gonzalez Agud overcame Parrot and Galowski in the first match of doubles, 6-2. Lucy Spice and Amy Griffiths took a win against Vendrell and Musugunthan 6-3. Madison Conwell and Lucia Davila teamed up for the first time this year but fell short to Kong and Quattlebaumt 6-2. Gwendolyn Rast and Rebecca Gibbons picked up another doubles win in a close match against Bratcher and Cains, prevailing 7-6.

Singles- Similar to their doubles play, the Wolves enjoyed their success against the Pioneers. Between the six wolves that participated in singles play, the team only allowed one point. Griffiths, Conwell, Gibbons,Rast Ware and Lucia Davila contributed to their dominance by each recording a win. 

Once again, Coach Mark Gardiner's team proved themselves victorious in all singles matches against Converse College. Elisa Aguire, Judit, Griffiths, Spice, Conwell and Ware all came out with a win to put their team on top.
