Glenn posts 6th place time in 60m at East Tennessee State Invitational

JOHNSON CITY, TENN. – The Newberry indoor track and field competed at the East Tennessee State Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
 
Jumps:
D'arion Johnston posted an eighth-place finish in the finals of the women's triple jump with a mark of 34' 7.75" (10.56m). Johnston also finished 20th in the long jump, with a mark of 15' 3.25" (4.65m) while Elka Variste followed closely behind with a 14' 8" (4.47m) jump.
 
For the men, sophomore Tyrese Grant posted a 16th place mark of 41' 2.50" on the triple jump. Elijah Ngugi finished 28th in the long jump with a mark of 16' 10.75" (5.15m).

Track:
James Glenn gave the Wolves their best finish of the event during the men's 60m. Glenn finished in 6th place with an impressive time of 7.01. Glenn also posted a time of 22.70 in the 200m but missed out on the finals for the event.

Elijah Fulmore narrowly missed out on the finals for the men's 60m hurdles, posting a time of 8.85 in the event.
 
Peyton Norcia ran the 800m and finished with a time of 2:18.78 for 28th place in the event. Quinn Wilson and Triston Gogol each competed in the mile-run. Wilson posted a 15th place time of 4:46.98 in the event while Gogol followed closely behind with a 17th place time of 4:48.69. Gogol also ran the 5000m and finished 14th with a time of 17:10.99.
 
Shekinah Brown posted a time of 2:55.23 in the women's 800m for 37th place.
 
Up Next:
Newberry will get no breaks as they head to Winston-Salem tomorrow morning to compete at the JDL January College Kick-off.
