NEWBERRY – The 2018 Micronesian Games concluded last week, and
Sidra Triplett competed in multiple events to help the Republic of the Marshall Islands to the fourth-most medals in the competition with 52.
Triplett, a rising junior on the Wolves' volleyball team, won individual medals in discus and shot put. She and a partner also won a beach volleyball medal and was a key member of the Marshall Islands' indoor volleyball team.
She won the gold medal for women's discus with a throw of 33.32 meters. Both beach volleyball and indoor volleyball were team silver medals. Triplett's shot put silver medal came after a throw of 11.13 meters.
The teams to win more total medals than the Republic of the Marshall Islands were Palau (70), Pohnpei (70), and Guam (53). Overall, 346 medals were earned by 10 different teams participating in 13 sporting categories.
