Dillon reaches 100 career goals in loss

The junior scored two in the Wolves' 23-7 loss

SAVANNAH, Ga. – Junior Rachel Dillon scored a pair of goals to hit the centennial mark in career goals as the Wolves fell to SCAD 23-7 Wednesday night.

Dillon is tied at sixth place in the South Atlantic Conference in total goals this season with 27. She has scored in every game this season with her scoring streak stretching back 13 contests.

SCAD tallied the first four goals of the contest before a pass from Alexis Kahler to Sophie Moore found the back of the net to put Newberry on the board. Newberry would go on a three-goal streak in the middle of the first from Naomi Killian, Monique Proctor, and Dillon to close the gap to four with 11:48 remaining in the half. A pair of goals from Kahler and Killian would keep the difference at single digits, 13-6, heading into intermission.

Newberry was unable to stop a dominant Bees' offense who scored eight unanswered to pull away in the second. SCAD would tally 22 shots on frame in the second half to come away with the 23-7 win.

Brandy Bowman surpassed her career-high with 22 saves on the night and currently ranks fifth in Division II in cumulative saves.

Newberry returns to Setzler Field for a three-game home stint starting on Saturday, March 31 against Tusculum at 1:00 p.m.
