Wolves aim for third straight win

NEWBERRY – The Newberry women's basketball team will travel to Brevard to take on the Tornados as the Wolves look to improve their play away from Eleazer Arena.

NEWBERRY STORYLINES

Newberry is 15-0 vs. Brevard since the Tornados joined the SAC in 2008-09 season.

The Wolves have had at least three starters in double-figures in 10 of the 13 games this season.

Meg Essex ranks second in the conference with 43 blocks on the season. Holds the SAC lead with 3.3 blocks per game.

Newberry holds a 8-1 home record, 1-3 on the road.

Shelby Britten has 17 assists in the last two games.

Jaya Schultz leads team in rebounding with 7.2 per game.

 

BREVARD STORYLINES

Brevard is coming off 92-41 loss vs. Carson-Newman on Wednesday.

The Tornados fiinished last season with a 1-25 record, and 0-22 in the conference.

The Cobras were tabbed to finish 12th in the SAC Preseason Poll.

Senior guard Madison Lenox leads the Tornados averaging 20.5 points per game.

Brevard ranks third in the SAC in three-point attempts per game, and 2nd in three-pointers made per game.

The lone conference win for the Tornados was a 74-67 final against Tusculum back on Nov. 22.
