DANBURY, Conn. - The conference champion Newberry Wolves had seven wrestlers named to the all-conference listing in the inaugural Eastern College Athletic Conference Division II Wrestling League all-conference honorees.

Named to the first team all-conference were Trung Duong at 125 lbs., Jordan Simpson at 133 lbs., Lukas Gilmore at 165 lbs. and Huston Evans at 184 lbs.

Earning second team all-conferecne honors were Nick Lankford at 141 lbs., Zack Dobbins at 149 lbs. and Cody Brundage at 197 lbs.

Duong was an All-American this year, finishing in eighth place at the NCAA Division II National Tournament in March. He had a season record of 31-11 with a perfect 6-0 record in ECAC duals.

Simpson was also an All-American this year, finishing in seventh place at the NCAA Division II National Tournament in March. He had a season record of 24-8 with a perfect 5-0 record in ECAC duals.

Gilmore finished with a 20-12 record and a perfect 6-0 record in ECAC duals.

Evans was an All-American for the second time in his career, finishing in seventh place at the NCAA Division II National Tournament in March. Evans went 37-8 on the year with a perfect 6-0 record in ECAC duals.

Lankford was a national qualifier for the first time in he career. Lankford went 20-15 on the season with a perfect 6-0 record in ECAC duals.

Dobbins was a national qualifier for the first time as well. Dobbins went 18-12 in his first varsity season at Newberry with a 1-2 ECAC record.

Brundage earned his first trip to the national tournament this year. Brundage went 31-13 on the season with a perfect 6-0 record in ECAC duals.

The Wolves went a perfect 6-0 in ECAC action to claim the first-ever conference championship. Other teams in the league are Belmont Abbey, Coker, Emmanuel, King, Limestone and UNC Pembroke.
