HILTON HEAD ISLAND - The Newberry Wolves' women's tennis team picked up it second sweep victory of its trip to the beach on Sunday afternoon, taking a 9-0 dual win over Ashland at Chaplin Park.

Newberry is now 13-2 overall on the season heading into Monday's 12:30 p.m. dual vs. Belmont Abbey at Carolina Place.

The Wolves dropped only one set in singles action after jumping out to an early 3-0 lead after doubles. Vanessa Ortiz and Amanda Carrillo took an 8-1 win at No. 1, Elizabeth Williamson and Tara Lamers won an 8-4 bout at No. 2 and Rebeca Martinez and Veronika Viegas scored an 8-2 victory at No. 3.

Williamson and Carrillo both kept undefeated singles marks alive. Williamson moved to 15-0 on the season with a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 1 and Carrillo won by the same score at No. 3 to go to 14-0.
