Box Score NEWBERRY - Newberry and Coker were in a tight women's lacrosse game from start to finish on Wednesday afternoon, but the visiting Cobras scored four of the first five goals in the second half and held on to defeat the Wolves by a 7-6 count at Setzler Field.
Newberry loses its third straight and falls to 4-4 overall and 1-2 in the South Atlantic Conference, while Coker is now 4-2 overall and 1-2 in the league. Newberry next hosts Point (Ga.) on Wednesday, March 23.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Rachel Dillon was Newberry's top offensive performer with two goals and an assist.
- Maddie Campbell also scored two goals for the Wolves.
- Brandy Bowman made six saves in goal for the Wolves.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Newberry got on the board first and took a 2-0 lead inside the game's first 10 minutes on a Dillon goal at 23:43 and Shoop's marker 35 seconds later.
Coker scored the next three goals in succession, but Dillon put the Wolves back on the board with 1:18 left in the half to send the game to halftime at a 3-3 tie. Newberry only took four shots in that 20 minute span.
Coming out of the halftime break, Coker scored the opening two goals in the first six minutes before Campbell scored the first of her goals to make it a 5-4 Cobras lead with 22:33 to play.
After two more Coker goals pushed the lead to three for the visitors, Campbell scored at 16:23 and Grosvenor netted a goal at 11:38 to pull the Wolves to within one goal.
Newberry launched five shots in the final 10 minutes, with one saved and three going wide. A Helen Kuhn shot with 6:53 to play hit the post. Coker only took one shot in the final 10 minutes, which was saved by Bowman.
