NEWBERRY - The Newberry men's basketball team welcomes Paine, Southern Wesleyan and Coker to Eleazer Arena for the 2016 Newberry Invitational. Newberry will face off against Paine at 7:00 p.m. on Friday and Southern Wesleyan at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.

• Newberry is coming off a stretch of three games in just over 29 hours on November 11-12. 
• Two of those three contests went into overtime, as Newberry defeated Erskine but lost to North Greenville.
• The Wolves are hosting the Newberry Invitational this weekend and will feature Paine, Southern Wesleyan and Coker.
• Newberry continues to spread around the scoring, having five players in double-figures against North Greenville.

TOURNAMENT PREVIEW

• Southern Wesleyan is 1-1 on the season after splitting games against South Atlantic Conference opponents Carson-Newman (106-83, L) and Brevard (75-61, W).
• Paine is 1-0 after defeating Flager 75-72 in their season opener. The Lions’ game against Livingstone was postponed.
• Coker is 1-1 after splitting games against North Greenville (87-74, L) and Erskine (78-73, W). Newberry split two regular season meetings against the Cobras last season.

Last season, Newberry went 2-0 at the home invitational after defeating Lees-McRae and Washington Adventist. Darius Sharp is averaging 22.5 points per game for SWU, while Kaderious Compton is averaging 11.5 points per game for Paine. JaQuez Motley averages 14.3 points per game for Coker.
