CHARLOTTE, N.C.- The Newberry College women's basketball team look to win their South Atlantic Conference matchup against Queens on Wednesday, January 27. The Wolves previously defeated the Royals 76-49 on November 24, 2015.

LAST TIME OUT FOR THE WOLVES
The team defeated Carson-Newman University 77-69, on Saturday afternoon. At the half, Samantha Creed led the team in points with 14 followed by Hannah Lepaio with six. The Wolves shot 59% from the field.
At the end of the third quarter, Newberry had a 60-51 lead. The Wolves shot 81.8% from the line and 55.0% from the field.
For the game, Creed finished with 19 points, two assists and two steals. Nicola Handreck finished the game with 15 points, six rebounds, seven assists, and one steal. Jaya Schultz finished the game with 13 points followed by Hannah Lepaio who scored 10 points. As a team, Newberry shot 76% from the line and 48.1% from the field.
LAST MEETING WITH QUEENS
The team defeated Carson-Newman University 77-69, on Saturday afternoon. Earlier in the 2015-16 season, the Wolves defeated Queens 76-49 with the help of a 11-point streak from Creed. The game was the Wolves' home opener and the first South Atlantic conference game of the season.
With 7:12 left in the third quarter, Creed started her run by scoring a 3-pointer by finishing a pass from Kirsten Dunsmore. Less than a minute later Creed made another 3-pointer with the assist going to Handreck. At the 5:36 mark Creed finished another pass from Handreck for a 3-pointer. To finish her 11-point run Creed made a fast break layup with 5:14 left.
For the game, Creed scored 16 points, grabbed five rebounds, and had one block and one steal. Meg Essex and Handreck both scored 12 points each. The team shot 75% from the free throw line and 61.5% from the arch.
SCOUTING QUEENS
The Queens University of Charlotte women’s basketball team broke out of their 12 game losing streak as they dominated conference foe Brevard College, 69-48, on Monday.
The Royals shot 53.7 percent from the field, assisting on 20 of their 29 made shots. They also out rebounded Brevard, 41-33, and only allowed them to shoot 28.1 percent and make only 4-of-29 from three-point range.
Maggie Stewart scored 19 points on 9-of-13 shooting from the field to go along with six rebounds. Karlesha Thompson added a double double for the Royals as she scored 10 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Carmen Richardson was all over the stat sheet as she scored 14 points, dished out six assists and snagged six rebounds.
