NEWBERRY – The Newberry Wolves will host Carson-Newman on Sunday, Jan. 24th for the second meeting this season. Newberry won the first meeting by a score of 86-84.

Newberry top scorer was Gerald Evans with 24 points going 8-13 from the field and 5-9 from behind the arc. Xavier Holmes and Mitch Riggs each scored 11 points in the victory. Sawyer Williams was Carson-Newman’s top scorer with 18 points.  

The Wolves beat Catawba on Wednesday, Jan. 20th by a score of 98-84. Mitch Riggs led the way for the Wolves with 19 total points as James Stepp finished with 16 points and four rebounds.

• Newberry shot 44.3% from the field, 39.5% from three point land and 73.1% at the charity stripe.
• Newberry added to their nation leading forced turnovers with 18 against the Indians.
