No cigar, as Wolves' rally falls short against Anderson

BREVARD, N.C. – The Newberry College women’s tennis team fell 5-4 in heartbreaking fashion in the first round of the 2015 South Atlantic Conference tournament versus the No. 5 seed Anderson Trojans.

Newberry was up against the ropes midway through as Anderson jumped out to a 4-1 overall match lead, but the four-seeded Wolves did not give way as they battled back until the end.

The Trojans were able to claim two points in doubles competition at the No. 1 and No. 3 doubles matchups. At the No. 3 doubles matchup Lindsay Gregory and Abigail Gregory defeated Rebeca Martinez (Spain) and Kelly McManus (Charleston, S.C.) 8-1.
