GREENEVILLE, Tenn. – The Newberry College women’s tennis team dropped its contest to the Tusculum Pioneers 7-2 on Sunday afternoon at the Nichols Tennis Complex.
The Wolves claimed one point in doubles action and one point in singles action against the No. 31 ranked Pioneers.
In singles competition, Elizabeth Williamson defeated Kealee Heffner in straight sets 6-1, 6-4 at the No. 1 matchup. The win was her third consecutive victory and her 14th win of the year.
The lone point in the doubles section cam in the No. 2 matchup as Tara Lamers and Williamson defeated Erin Mills and Sarah Baker 8-4.
Newberry returns to action at Lenoir-Rhyne in Hickory, North Carolina at 11 a.m. on Friday April 3.
