Wolves fall to West Liberty 6-3 on Wednesday

HILTON HEAD ISLAND – The Newberry College men’s tennis team lost 6-3 against West Liberty on Wednesday afternoon at Spring Fest.

Newberry earned a win at the No. 1 doubles contest as Fernando Espana and Fernando Tous defeated Andy Ponder and Pablo Cimorra 9-7. The Wolves dropped the No. 2 doubles matchup 9-7 and fell in the No. 3 doubles contest 8-3.

In singles action, Jordan Monosky claimed a 6-4, 6-1 win in the No. 4 matchup over Martin Moncayo. At the No. 5 singles contest, Richard Zeh defeated Hayden Blazer 6-0, 6-1.

The Wolves conclude on Thursday versus Tiffin before returning to Newberry to face conference foe, Wingate at 2 p.m. form the Cannon Courts at Newberry College.
