On the road again

NEWBERRY – Newberry Wolves travel Wingate N.C. for a South Atlantic Conference show down in the Charles Cannon Complex. Tip off set for 6 p.m.

 

LAST GAME FOR THE WOLVES

The Wolves went to Jefferson City, Tenn. To face off against the Eagles of Carson-Newman. Newberry came out victorious in the Holt Fieldhouse as they beat the Eagles 86-84 for the first time in the last seven matchups.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

  • Newberry shot 41.1% from the field going 30-73 and shot 43.2% from behind the arc making 16 of 37 shots.
  • The Wolves grabbed 27 rebounds to Carson-Newman’s 43 boards.
  • The Wolves tallied 12 assists and 13 steals to their 11 turnovers.
  • Mitch Riggs scored his 1000 career point on his first made basket of the game. Riggsfinished with 11 points.
  • Gerald Evans held game high in points with 24 going 8-13 from the field, 5-9 from behind the arc, four assists and seven steals.
  • Xavier Holmes finished with 11 points and five rebounds while J. Copeland tallied 10 points
