Wolves host Queens on Saturday in Breast Cancer Awareness game

NEWBERRY - The Newberry College women’s soccer team hosts Queens University of Charlotte for a conference match on Saturday, October 17. The game will be their Breast Cancer Awareness game and will start at 12:30 p.m.

  • The team defeated USC Aiken, 2-0, this past Wednesday.  Michelle Calmeyn scored both goals for the Wolves.
  • The Wolves are led by Calmeyn, who has earned 22 points so far (10 goals, 2 assists). Erika Linch is behind her with nine points (4 goals, 1 assist).
  • Alexis Carrillo has made 75 saves for a 1.57 Goals Against Average. Rebecca Darley has made 27 saves for a 2.05 Goals Against Average.

QUEENS NOTES

  • The Royals recently tied (1-1) against Pfeiffer University. Kathy Fisher scored Queen’s goal making it her second goal of the season.
  • Queens is led by Tori Danchak making 63 saves in goal for a 0.94 Goals Against Average.
  • Charlotte Ring leads the Royals offensively in goals with 6.
