The Wolves are coming off of a 30-win season in 2014, their first 30-win season since 1999. Newberry returns 16 letterwinners, including six starters from a year ago. Five Wolves were named to the South Atlantic Conference Preseason All-SAC teams. Seniors Albert Baur (Philadelphia, Pa.) and Wesley Camp (Pelion, S.C.) were named to the first team while teammates Cole Cromer (North Augusta, S.C.), Alex Kirby (Chapin, S.C.) and Daniel Nations (Central, S.C.) all earned second team accolades.

Cromer will get the ball in game one after putting together a solid 2014 campaign. The 5-10 righthander posted a 5-2 record with a 2.18 ERA and 59 strikeouts in 78.1 innings pitched. He will more than likely be countered by junior Frank Warren. The lefty went 4-7 in 2014 with a 6.23 ERA and 27 strikeouts in 60.2 innings of work.
