Adum wins twice in Wolves' 6-3 loss to Saints

NEWBERRY - The Newberry women's tennis team fell 6-3 on Wednesday at the Cannon Tennis Court, despite a strong performance in singles and doubles action by junior Romina Adum.

The Wolves (12-10) fell behind the Saints (10-11) 2-1 at the conclusion of doubles play, with the Wolves' lone doubles point coming at No. 1 where Adum (Guayaquil, Ecuador) and junior teammate Susana Aguirre (Guayaquil, Ecuador) earned an 8-4 win.

Adum earned a straight sets victory at No. 2 singles as she toppled Mathilde Baartvedt for her 20th victory of the season. Adum was joined in the win column by junior Marina Ziehe (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil), as Ziehe notched a win in two sets over Adalyn Hazelman.
