BREVARD, N.C. - The Newberry Wolves volleyball team picked up its first South Atlantic Conference victory of the season with a 25-17, 25-19, 25-22 sweep of Brevard College at Boshamer Gymnasium on Saturday afternoon.

With the victory, Newberry moves to 6-5 overall and 1-1 in league play. Newberry plays at Augusta State Tuesday before returning to Newberry for two home SAC matches next weekend.

Samantha Parrish (Angola, Ind.) had another double-double with 12 kills and 11 digs in the match. Libero Elayni Stokes (Houston, Texas) led the Wolves with 12 digs and Blair Browning (New Lexington, Ohio) passed out 34 assists.

Amanda Soper (Simi Valley, Calif.) had nine kills, while Jessica King (Los Angeles, Calif.) and Lauren Prachar (Fort Wayne, Ind.) each had six kills and the Wolves had a total of 11 blocks.
