NEWBERRY, S.C. - The Newberry College volleyball team fell to Lenoir-Rhyne in straight sets (25-16, 25-17, 25-16) at Eleazer Arena on Saturday afternoon.

The Wolves (11-11, 4-8 South Atlantic Conference) dropped the first five points of set one and were unable to match the intensity of the Bears, who swept the two-game season series from the Wolves.

Newberry didn't perform any better in set two. A kill by Samantha Parrish (Angola, Ind.) put the Wolves within a point at 14-13, but Lenoir-Rhyne went on an 11-4 run to close out the set.

A Madison Schultz (Decatur, Ind.) kill put the Wolves within two at 12-10 in the third set, but the Bears turned up the heat scoring seven straight points to take a commanding 19-10 lead.

Schultz's eight kills led the Wolves while Lindsey Hollingsworth (Charleston, S.C.) had a team-high nine digs.
