In its second match of the day, Newberry regrouped and pulled out a 3-1 victory over the Converse Valkyries. Newberry again opened strong with a 25-14 opening set victory but was edged out in the second by a score of 26-24. This time Newberry's players didn't let the loss effect them and came back to win the third and fourth sets (25-19, 25-17) to close out the victory.

Senior Dani Hroblak (Lake Wylie, S.C.) came up big for Newberry with a team-leading 8 kills. Brianna Blakely amassed 31 more assists in the match, taking her weekend total over 100. Her tournament performance moved her into seventh place all-time in career assists at Newberry College.
