NEWBERRY, S.C. - The Newberry College women's tennis team rebounded from being swept in their season opener with an 8-1 win over visting North Georgia College and State University Thursday.
All three doubles pairings as well as the top five singles seeds won for the Indians.
Autise Mortimer (Nassau, Bahamas) and Natalie Hudson (Sumter, S.C.) picked up their first singles victories at Newberry in No. 1 and No. 5 singles, respectively.
Mortimer also teamed up with Lauren Hartley (Beamsville, Ontario, Canada) to win No. 1 doubles.
The Lady Indians return to action on Monday, hosting USC Aiken for a 2 p.m. start at the Newberry College Tennis Complex.
