MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. - The Newberry College women's tennis team dropped to 1-3 against NCAA opponents this season as they fell, 8-1, at No. 9 Georgia College and State University Friday.
Bethany Poppe (Califton, N.J.) won her first singles match of the season, defeating GC&SU's Whitney Lightfoot, 6-2, 6-1, in No. 6 singles.
The Lady Indians return home Wednesday to host Francis Marion for a 2 p.m. start.
