ANDERSON, S.C. – The 16th-ranked Newberry College wrestling team had a dominating performance on Thursday evening, defeating Anderson University 44-6 at the Abney Center.

Newberry (17-5-1) benefited from three forfeits from the Trojans (3-16).  Newberry’s Quinn Tolbert, the sixth-ranked wrestler in the NCAA Division II 174-pound weight class, scored an impressive 17-5 major decision victory over Jared Skinner.

One of the top highlights of the evening came from Indian freshman Latra Collick.  Collick countered a would-be takedown by Anderson’s Chris Francis with a back-flip into a head attack for a takedown en route to the eventual victory by fall in 3:31.

The Indians will now prepare for the NCAA Division II Regional Meet, which will be held at UNC Pembroke from Friday, February 23 thru Saturday, February 24.
