NEWBERRY, S.C. - Newberry College was unable to capitalize on a game two victory Saturday morning, as the Mars Hill College Lions defeated the Lady Indians 3-1 with game scores of 30-25, 25-30, 30-22, and 30-11.

Mars Hill (8-11, 2-5 SAC) spread the attack as three Lion's racked up double digit kills. Sierra Vista, Ariz. native Rebekka Brown led the way with 18 kills, followed by Danielle Silvers' 17 and Lindsey Phillips' 14.

Junior Cara Coleman topped the Lady Indian attack with 13 kills while freshman setter Kilee Ruppe tallied 25 assists.

Senior Jessica Lipsi had a solid defensive showing, scratching out 15 digs while fellow senior Jessica Lopez registered four blocks along with two service aces.

Newberry's next match comes Tuesday against Francis Marion University in Florence, S.C. at 7 p.m.
