NEWBERRY, S.C. - The Newberry College women's tennis team extended its winning streak to three with an 8-1 victory over Converse College Thursday at the R. Wright Cannon Courts on the college campus. Newberry improves to 7-5 with the win. Converse drops to 1-8 in the spring season.
Three Lady Indians held their opponents scoreless in singles play. Tanea Miller (Nassau, Bahamas), Chanelle Clare (Nassau, Bahamas), and Bethany Poppe (Califton, N.J.) won 6-0, 6-0 in numbers three, four and five singles, respectively.
Miller teamed with Lauren Hartley (Beamsville, Ontario) and Poppe teamed with Isabel Kreidler (Horb, Germany) to shutout Rohrer/Jones and Jardim/Summerell in one and two doubles.
