Women's tennis falls to #14 ranked Georgia College and State, 9-0

NEWBERRY, S.C. - The Lady Indians of Newberry College took a hard loss against #14 Georgia College and State University Bobcats Friday afternoon, 9-0. Newberry's record falls to 3-4.  Georgia College and State improves their record to 3-0.

Doubles pair Lauren Hartley and Tanea Miller showed great effort against Sofia Intriago and Gabriela Acuna, however the end result was Intriago and Acuna 8, Hartley and Miller 4. 

In the singles match Bethany Poppe fought hard against Acuna but wasn't able to pull out a win, 6-3, 6-3.

The Lady Indians will travel for a match against Francis Marion on Wednesday, February 22.  Georgia College and State University will travel to play Augusta State on Monday, February 20 at 2:30 p.m.
