JEFFERSON CITY, TENN. - Newberry College's Lorena Maia was selected to the all-tournament team for the Carson Newman Regional tournament last Friday and Saturday in Jefferson City, Tenn. The team was selected by the coaches of the teams participating.

In two games on October 13, the freshman hitter from Belo Horizonte, Brazil tallied 20 kills 48 total attacks in two losses to Rollins College and Palm Beach Atlantic. Maia also registered four service aces, eight digs, and three solo blocks.

Newberry fell in three games to Rollins College (30-26, 30-20, 30-21) and in four games to Palm Beach Atlantic University (27-30, 30-13, 30-18, 30-27).

The Lady Indians (2-24, 1-8 SAC) face arch-rival Presbyterian College (7-20, 1-8 SAC) on October 17 in Clinton, S.C. at 7 p.m.
