GREENEVILLE, Tenn. � Cara Coleman led Newberry with 15 kills  while Jamie Foster-Mann added 11 and Jessica Lipsi notched 10 as the Indians defeated Tusculum College for their first conference win of the season, 3-0. Game scores were 30-25, 30-19 and 30-24. The Indians recorded 11 service aces in the match.

Newberry (5-7, 1-2 South Atlantic) had 15 total team blocks on the match as Coleman had eight block assists in the match. Kristin Pulone had five service aces for the Indians and five block assists. Tusculum (3-8, 0-3 SAC) was led by Shawna Voigt with seven kills.

Newberry�s serving and blocking game came alive in game one after a slow Friday night. The Indians recorded six team blocks and five service aces in the opening round of Saturday�s match. Coleman led the Indians with four kills while Lipsi and Pulone recorded two service aces each. Coleman also had four block assists on the game. Newberry had 20 digs in the game, just two short of Friday night�s total 22 against Carson-Newman.

Newberry�s hitting game came alive in game two as the Indians hit .250, after a tough .038 in game one. Tusculum couldn�t get their attacking game going as the Pioneers hit -.029 in the game. Newberry continued to rack up the aces, serving up five in the game. The Indians had 14 team blocks and 14 kills in the game as Coleman once again registered four kills and four block assists. Jamie Foster-Mann also notched four kills on the game. Lipsi had three kills for the Indian effort.

The Indians hit .241 in game three while the Pioneers hit .060. Foster-Mann had five kills in the game, as did Lipsi but Coleman led with seven kills. Pulone led the defensive effort in the game with six digs.

Newberry returns to action Tuesday night as they host USC Upstate in Eleazer Arena in Newberry, S.C.
