Francis Marion stops Newberry volleyball, 3-0

FLORENCE, S.C. � Lezlie Logan, Michelle Settergren, and Kelly Feber combined for 42 kills to lead Francis Marion University to a 30-25, 30-27, 30-16 non-conference win over visiting Newberry College, Tuesday evening in college volleyball action.

FMU wins its seventh straight match, the team�s longest streak since a nine-match string in 1999, and improves its record to 15-7.  Newberry drops to 7-11.

Logan pounded out a game-high 15 kills, while Settergren added 14 en route to a .414 hitting percentage.  Settergren also totaled four blocks.  Feber had 13 kills and 13 digs, her 14th double-double of the season.

Juniors Kristin Pulone and Katie Stone led Newberry with 10 kills each.  Junior setter Alicia Khoury handed out 31 assists.  Sophomore libero Kelly Harting led the Lady Indians with a game-high 19 digs.

Francis Marion will play host to a quad match on Saturday, with the Patriots playing the State University of West Georgia at 11 a.m. and Fayetteville State University at 5 p.m.  Newberry will play at Mars Hill College, Saturday at 5 p.m.
