Mitch Hall enters his 17th season at Newberry College as an Assistant Coach for the Football Program. Hall is the Defensive Line Coach for the Wolves, Pro Liaison, and the Football Camp director.
In the 2022 Season, Hall coached first team all-SAC Defensive Lineman Devante Gambrell. Gambrell had 45 tackles, six TFL's for a total of 27 yards, and five sacks on the 2022 campaign. This marked the third straight season that Hall had a first team all-SAC Defensive lineman.
In the 2021 season, Hall had two all-SAC Defensive Lineman TyRan Dixon and Ty Kelly. Dixon had 57 tackles 10.5 TFL's and two sacks on the season. While Kelly had 34 tackles, five TFL's and one sack on the 2021 season.
Hall started his second stint with the Wolves in 2020 after spending the previous six years on Division I Presbyterian
College staff as the running backs coach.
In 2017, Hall oversaw another 1,000-yard Blue Hose rusher as Torrance Marable became the second PC player in the Division One era to rush for at least 1,000 yards.
In 2015, Hall oversaw a running back room that featured Darrell Bridges, who rushed for 1,065 yards which led to Bridges to recieve First Team All-Conference honors and became the school’s first 1,000-yard rusher in its Division I era.
In 2014, Hall helped PC to a 6-5 record, the program’s first winning season since 2007 and its first-ever in the Big South. The offense guided the Blue Hose to ranked wins over No. 12 Furman and No. 22 Charleston Southern and the team's two road wins stand as the most since three in 2007.
From 2009-2013 Hall served as the Defensive Line coach for the Wolves. During this time, he coached four All-Conference Defensive Linemen and one All-American. In 2013, the Wolves finished 9-3 and made their first NCAA postseason appearance.
Hall previously served as the defensive coordinator at North Greenville University. In 2007 he coached the Crusaders’ defensive line and was promoted to defensive coordinator and defensive backs coach in 2008.
For the 2005 and 2006 seasons, Hall coached running backs and tight ends at Presbyterian College. The Blue Hose were the 2005 South Atlantic Conference champions and ranked first in the conference in scoring average.
A 2003 graduate of Western Carolina University, Hall served as a graduate assistant for the Catamounts in 2003 and 2004. He was a four-year letterman at linebacker and special teams playing for the Catamounts from 1998 to 2002. In his 2002 season, Hall earned defense player of the game vs. Appalachian State.
