Jacob Brasseur joined the Wolves Women's Wrestling Program in June of 2026 as associate head wrestling coach. Before joining the Newberry College Women's Wrestling Staff, Brasseur served as both an assistant and head coach at Lexington High School in Lexington, South Carolina. During his time at Lexington, Brasseur assisted with the development of multiple state placers, two individual state champions, and saw the inaugural season of the girl's wrestling program. Â
Wrestling collegiately at DI Presbyterian College in Clinton, South Carolina, Brasseur competed for the Blue Hose from 2018 to 2023 and competed at 125,133, and 141. Brasseur was a member of the inaugural team at Presbyterian, and in his five-year career he saw action at U23 World Team Trials, the U.S. Open, and earned multiple Academic All-American honors.Â
One of the first commitments to Presbyterian College in the spring of 2018, Brasseur came to campus after concluding a high school career that saw him finish as a four-time state placer, twice capturing the South Carolina state championship, an NHSCA Senior All-American finish, the Dave Schultz High School Excellence award for South Carolina, and a career record of 209-9. Â
