Jackson Skeen serves as the Assistant Men’s and Women’s Golf Coach at Newberry College, bringing an accomplished collegiate and professional playing background to the Wolves’ programs.
Prior to joining the Newberry coaching staff, Skeen spent two years competing professionally on several mini tours and in numerous Monday qualifiers. His professional experience includes competition on the West Florida Golf Tour, GPro Tour, Carolina Mountain Tour, Clutch Pro Tour and AMP Tour. He also competed internationally in Canada and the United Kingdom. Skeen participated in Korn Ferry Tour Q-School in each of the past two years, advancing to First Stage in 2024.
Before turning professional, Skeen enjoyed a decorated collegiate career that began at the University of Tennessee before transferring to Tennessee Technological University. During his time with the Golden Eagles, he earned six Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Week honors and an OVC Player of the Month selection.
Skeen was named the OVC Freshman of the Year for the 2021-22 season before producing a record-setting 2022-23 campaign. He led the OVC in scoring average by a full stroke, posting a 70.96 average that marked the lowest regular-season scoring average in Tennessee Tech history at the time. His performance earned him an at-large selection to compete in the NCAA Regionals, becoming just the second player in program history to receive an individual at-large bid.
During his senior season, Skeen helped lead Tennessee Tech to the 2024 OVC Championship. He concluded his collegiate career with a 72.4 scoring average, the second-lowest career mark in program history behind PGA Tour professional Scott Stallings.
A native of Johnson City, Tennessee, Skeen attended Science Hill High School, where he became the first individual state champion in school history. His accomplishments were recognized in 2025 when he was inducted into the Science Hill High School Hall of Fame.
