Raised in Irmo, South Carolina, Brett attended the University of South Carolina and obtained his Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science in August of 2020. Upon graduation, Brett spent time doing a student-aide internship at Newberry College while applying for his master's degree.
Brett obtained his Masters of Science in Athletic Training from the University of South Carolina in May of 2024 where he then went to work at Landrum High School from August 2024 to February 2026.
Brett is passionate about healthcare; spending time with his nieces and growing up a competitive bowler plays a role in his passion for athletics.
